MLB: The Red's sign Aaron Harang to a 4-year $36.5 contract.
On Tuesday, the Reds made Aaron Harang the highest paid Cincinnati pitcher. After going 16-11 with a 3.76 ERA, Cincinnati have been working on an extension for Harang, their last player available for salary arbitration. Harang made $2.35 million last season, and asked for $5.5 million in arbitration. The club had countered with a $4.25 million offer in arbitration.
Phoenix wins, despite Steve Nash missing the second half.
Reigning MVP, Steve Nash, missed the entire second half of the Suns 113-108 win against the Nuggets Monday night. Nash aggravated his injured right shoulder and said it was too painful to risk trying to play, "I thought it was best to come out," Nash said. "It hurts when I'm moving it." Without Nash and being down by 9 points, the Suns leaned on Amare Stoudamire and he responded with 36 points and 13 rebounds. Also in the loss, Carmelo Anthony notched his first career triple-double with 31 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
Texas A&M puts up a C-Note against Durant and the "Horns".
Despite Kevin Durant's 28 points and 15 rebounds, the aggies defeated Texas, 100-82. Acie Law IV was brilliant yet again scoring 21 points and chipping in with 15 dimes. Josh Carter also contributed with 24 points and a season high 10 rebounds. The win improves the Aggies to 20-3 and extend their home winning streak to 21 games.
Dunk contest participants are named, still no LeBron or Wade.
The participants will be Nate Robinson, Dwight Howard, Gerald Green and Tyrus Thomas. Robinson will get the chance to defend his title against some of the best young stars in the game. Absent from this list once again are LeBron James DeWayne Wade, Andre Iguondala, Jason Richardson,Kobe Bryant and Vince Carter. Although Carter and Bryant will not be competing, they will be joining an All-Star cast on the judges table that include, Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins and Julius Erving.
