1st ROUND

Bud Selig is kicking this Draft off, I dislike this guy with a passion...he angers me, but that story is for another time...let's get to the first pick.

Today I'm going to be live blogging the first ever MLB draft that is being shown nationally, I'm still trying to think of a reason why i'm live blogging it other than for shits and giggles. But anyways, I'll be your stop for all the drafting shenanigans today.

Saturday night fever

I'm too tired to do the rest of the posts I had planned, so I'll hold off and do them in full tomorrow. But until then here's a preview of what I have planned for tomorrow.

1. Chuck James had no-hitter broken up in the 7th, Braves still win

Atlanta Braves starter, Chuck James had a no-hitter broken up in the ninth when Jason Bay came up and singled with one out. The Braves still won the game, very convincingly thanks to the All Mighty Thor, who had his first career multi-homerun game. Also continuing to impress is Willie Harris who went 4-5 with 2 doubles and an RBI.

2. Bruce Bowen kneed Steve Nash in his Candaian jewels

I did a post yesterday about Bruce Bowen of the San Antonio Spurs purposely kicking the Sun's Amare Stoudemire in his achilles. Well he did it again, this time kneeing Steve Nash right in his Canadian balls. Nash, obviously was down for a few moments but did return, although he had a horrible game in which he was unable to score until under five minutes in the third quarter.

3. Reigning MVP, Justin Morneau broke his nose

The Minnesota Twins' first baseman, Justin Morneau, broke his nose Saturday night when Nick Punto tried to turn a double play and the ball skipped off the turf and hit Morneau right in the nose. It was reset, but Morneau doesn't expect to miss that much time, he did mention that he is likely to sit out during Sunday's game.

4. Live Blog scheduled tomorrow between the Braves and Pirates

The Atlanta Braves will go for the sweep against the Pittsburgh Pirates tomorrow afternoon at 1:35 pm ET on TBS. We have rookie Anthony Lerew going against Ian Snell.

5. And a special tribute from Mr.T to everyone's mom on Mother's Day

I have a very special video in mind for tomorrow, seeing as how it's Mother's Day.

6. And whatever else catches my attention throughout the day.

It usually happens at least once a day when I post a totally random video/post that has little to nothing to do with sports. And i'm sure i'll do the same tomorrow.

And remember, as Bob Barker would say, please help control the pet population, spay and neuter your pets.

Live Blog: San Diego Padres @ Atlanta Braves

Top of the 9th inning: Rafael Soriano relieved Yates. Another dominating performance for Soriano, he gets them in order, 1-2-3. Braves win 5-3

Bottom of the 8th inning: Willie Harris walked again, but we got nothing else, four up, three down.

Top of the 8th inning: Tyler Yates relieved Paronto. Three up three down for Yates. He is looking good these past few days.

Bottom of the 7th inning: Easy inning for the Padres, as Hampson struck out both Jones'. Francoeur singled and then stole his first base of the year, but we didn't get anymore runs.

Top of the 7th inning: Chad Paronto relieved Hudson. He gave up a run on a sacrifice fly, but that was it. Braves still lead 5-3

Bottom of the 6th inning: Huge inning for Atlanta. First a single by McCann, then a double by Woodward. Harris then came in for Hudson and walked, then Johnson hit a bases clearing double. Braves now lead 5-2

Top of the 6th inning: Scary moment, Josh Bard hit a comebacker off of Hudson's arm for a single, but he was ok, and go t the next three hitters easily, including a double play.

Bottom of the 5th inning: Wells is cruising, sadly. Three up three down, although Andruw just missed having a homerun, he was a foot or so away.

Top of the 5th inning: Very easy inning for Hudson, he did give up a single, but otherwise he retired the others easy enough.

Bottom of the 4th inning: Another easy inning for Wells, he did allow a walk to Wilson but it got us no where as Johnson flew out to leftfield.

Top of the 4th inning: So much for a lead. Huddy gave up two runs after back-to-back RBI doubles by Cameron and Kouzmanoff. And we're all tied up 2-2

Bottom of the 3rd inning: The Braves went three up three down, we seriously need to hit a homer today, it's been forever.

Top of the 3rd inning: The Padres get a couple of singles, but strand two as Hudson got Gonzalez to ground out to 1st.

Bottom of the 2nd inning: Wells gives up a couple of walks, but the Braves can't push across another run.

Top of the 2nd inning: Three up, three down for Hudson, a ground out, fly out and then a strike out.

SIDE NOTE: Just in case you haven't discovered that i'm an idiot, here's more proof.

Jay10 Says:
McCann! We’re jumping on Wells early.

I'm the one that posted the lineups today on the Braves Journal and i'm live blogging here and I still got the name wrong, it's attention to detail like that, that keeps the readers coming.

Bottom of the 1st inning: Wells got roughed up a little bit, first Matt Diaz singled, then Chipper singled and the Andruw hit an RBI single and just in case you wanted another single, Fracoueur then hit an RBI single. But Wells was able to get out of it. Braves lead 2-0

Top of the 1st inning: Pretty easy inning for Hudson, he did however give up a couple of singles, but no harm done as Greene grounded out to third to end the inning.

Today's Line-ups

2. Juan Cruz Jr LF
3. Brian Giles RF
4. Adrian Gonzalez 1B

Live Blog: San Diego Padres @ Atlanta Braves

Top of the 9th inning: Soriano relieves Gonzalez. Holy shit I love this guy! Three up, three down another two strikeouts for Soriano, he is so electric. Braves win, 3-2

Bottom of the 8th inning: Dan Brocail relieved Meridith and got the Braves, three up three down including one strike out.

Top of the 8th inning: Mike Gonzalez relieves Smoltz. Gonzalez gets them 1-2-3 and in impressive fashion. He got a couple of soft groundouts and blew away Cruz Jr with a 95 mph fastball.

Bottom of the 8th inning: HUGE inning! It started off bad, with two straight groudouts, but Kelly hit a single, then Willie singled then Chipper just missed a 3-run homer, but it was ruled a ground rule double and KJ scored. Next up was Andruw, who hit another opposite field hit, this one scoring Harris. Braves now lead 3-2

Top of the 7th inning: Three up three down for Smoltz, he's been great these past few innings.

Bottom of the 6th inning: Andruw singled and then caught everyone off by stealing a base(1st of the season). He then advanced on a ground out by McCann but we were unable to get him in with a couple of groundouts. Oh and Maddux was relieved by Cla Meridith.

Top of the 6th inning: Smoltz fought back after giving up the lead-off double, he got a couple of ground balls and finally he struck out Brayan.

Bottom of the 5th inning: Long inning, first Woodward singled, then Smoltz bunted him over to second, then he advanced to third on a wild pitch, then KJ struck out, Big Willie came through again with an RBI single and then a stolen base but Chipper struck out to end the inning. San Diego leads 2-1

Top of the 5th inning: Another three up three down inning for Smoltz, he struck out Maddux and got a couple of groundouts.

Bottom of the 4th inning: Three up three down for Maddux. He's looking great tonight, great for him, bad for us.

Top of the 4th inning: Three up three down for Smoltz, Brayan did double but he tried to stretch it and was thrown out at third.

Bottom of the 3rd inning: Maddux walked Harris and Chipper reached on an error by Blum, but the Braves got nothing as Jones flied out to left.

Top of the 3rd inning: Much like the second, Smoltz got two quick outs before Adrian Gonzalez took him deep. Then Smoltz was able to come back and strike Cameron out. San Diego leads 2-0

Bottom of the 2nd inning: A couple of balls were hit hard, like Thor's, it was maybe a foot short. Francoeur did get a single, but other than that, Maddux cruised easily again.

Top of the 2nd inning: Started off great, didn't quite end as well. Smoltz struck out the first two batters he faced and then on a 2-2 pitch, Blum hit a solo homerun. And then Maddux came up and was able to fight through the glare off of Smoltz's head and he hit a single right up the middle on the first pitch he saw. But Smoltz recovered and got a ground out to end the inning. San Diego leads 1-0

Bottom of the 1st inning: Good inning for Greg Maddux, he did walk Chipper however, but Andruw flew out to center, no harm done. Let me just say, for the record it's weird rooting against Maddux, but ya gotta do whatcha gotta do.

Top of the 1st inning: Easy inning for John Smoltz, can't say the same for Woodward. Woodward made an error on the first ball he saw but it didn't hurt as Chipper was able to gun down the other Giles, Brian, as he tried to stretch a single into a double. Gonzalez grounded out to second and before that, Sledge popped up to second.

Tonight's Line-ups

1. Marcus Giles 2B
2. Terrmel Sledge LF
3. Brian Giles RF

Live Blog: Los Angeles Dodgers @ Atlanta Braves

Top of the 9th inning: Mike Gonzalez came in for Soriano. Gonzo came in and gave up a hit to the other Gonzo, the Louis version and after that was unhittable. He made LaRoche pop up to second, then overpowered Russell Martin, who came in for Ethier and struck him out and then he got Lieberthal to pop out to 1st base. Braves win 6-4.

Bottom of the 8th inning: In the bottom half of the eighth inning we ended up getting two man on, Frenchy reached on an error by Kent and then Andruw was walked but we couldn't get either one of them in.

Top of the 8th inning: Rafael Soriano relieved Chad Paronto and got the Dodgers to go down in order, Pierre and Kent both flied out and Nomar grounded out.

Bottom of the 7th inning: This was a huge inning for the Braves, it started off a walk to Willie Harris and then a double by Kelly Johnson and then a 2-run double scoring both of them. After that Francoeur fouled out and Andruw was walked then Chipper came in to pinch hit and was called out on a ridiculous check swing call, both he and Bobby Cox argued and were tossed from the game. After that subsided Thorman came up to pinch hit for Wilson and promptly hit an RBI single and then Salty, who had just got his first major league hit the inning before, got his first major league RBI off of a single. And even the worthless waste that is Chris Woodward got into the mix and hit an RBI single. Braves now lead 6-4.

Top of the 7th inning: Davies pitched great today but in the end he couldn't get out of the 7th inning, he was relieved by Chad Paronto after giving up a 2-run pinch hit homerun to Wilson Betemit. But Salty bailed us out again with that golden arm of his...throwing out one of the fastest players in baseball, Furcal.

Bottom of the 6th inning: Jarrod Saltalamacchia got his first major league hit, but it was to no avail as we get the bases loaded with one out and fucking Woodward grounds into a double play. Fuck that guy....Dodgers still lead 2-1.

Top of the 6th inning: There we go, back to normal, a 1-2-3 inning for Davies, much much better. Now if we can only score some runs.

Bottom of the 5th inning: Another three up three down inning for Wolf, this guy is beginning to piss me off.

Top of the 5th inning: Horrible meltdown of an inning for Davies, first Ethier knocked in LaRoche, then Davies threw another error this time into centerfield and then Lieberthal hit an RBI single to score Ethier and finally three batters later he got out of it with just giving up 2 runs, it could've been a lot worse. Dodgers lead 2-1.

Bottom of the 4th inning: Wolf gets another three up three down inning. With Salty, Woodward and Davies all going down.

Top of the 4th inning: Wow, Kyle Davies is really dealing right now, another three up-three down inning for him included in that is another two guys giving him a total of six strikeouts so far.

Bottom of the 3rd inning: Once again we leave guys on base with Andruw and Wilson both striking out and before them he struck out Renteria. Both pitchers are cruising.

Top of the 3rd inning: Another easy inning for Davies, what is going on with him, he's pitching like he did when he first came up, I'm loving it.

Bottom of the 2nd inning: After Chris Woodward just missed a homerun, Wolf came back and struck out both Davies and Johnson.

Top of the 2nd inning: Another pretty easy inning for Kyle Davies, he did throw a ball away giving him an error but no harm done has he got a couple of fly outs and then struck out Ethier to end the inning.

Bottom of the 1st inning: Braves get one on the bored on a Matt Diaz RBI single. KJ grounded out to lead off, Renteria then singled to extend his hitting streak to 15 games, Francoeur hen walked for the eleventh time this season and Andruw struck out. Next up was Diaz, who as you know knocked in a run, then after him Craig Wilson walked and then Saltalamacchia struck out on a bad call with the bases loaded. Braves lead 1-0

Top of the 1st inning: Kyle Davies looks good, getting them 1-2-3 three and striking out Furcal and Nomar. He walked Pierre on 4 straight pitches but Salty picked him off on first. Great start for Davies.

Today’s lineups

Busy day

It's been a busy day for me so far, but i'll have a couple of posts up soon, but I will be live blogging the Oscar De La Hoya vs Floyd Mayweather Jr fight tonight.

Friday, May 04, 2007

Live Blog, Los Angeles Dodgers @ Atlanta Braves

Top of the 9th inning- Soriano is amazing, he hit 100 MPH on the radar and was constantly hitting 97-98. He sit them down 1-2-3, although Furcal had a deep ball hit to left center that Andruw ran down, it seemed like he ran forever. Great win, Braves win 4-0 and improve to 18-10.

Bottom of the 8th inning- Rudy Seanez relieved Chad Billingsley. Harris singled, Pete Orr came in to hit for Gonzalez and got a infield single thanks to pure hustling, he slid into first to beat the tag. But then Johnson grounded into a double-play and then Renty grounded out to third. Braves lead 4-0 going into the 9th.

Top of the 8th inning- Mike Gonzalez relieved Smoltz, who had an outstanding game. Gonzo got the other Gonzo(the Louis version) to ground out to second, after that he gave up back-to-back singles and then struck out Saenz and then got Martinez to ground out to third.

Bottom of the 7th inning- Billingsley had a pretty easy inning, he struck out Andruw swinging, walked McCann, who was later tagged out at second on a fielder's choice by Francoeur and finally Thor flew out to deep left field.

Top of the 7th inning- Smoltz with another easy inning, he struck out Valdez, Furcal grounded out to second, Juan Pierre singled and Nomar grounded out to Smoltz.

Bottom of the 6th inning- Chad Billingsley relieved Beimel and Wilson Valdez took over at third for Betemit. Willie Harris singled and then advanced to second on Smoltz's sacrifice bunt, Kelly Johnson walked(for the 27th time this season) and then Renteria flied out to right. Chipper flew out about as far as you can hit it without it going out, and the Braves still lead 4-0.

Top of the 6th inning- Smoltz walked two batters but it resulted in nothing as he struck out Betemit and got Martinez to pop up to second. And before both of them he got Martin to fly out to right.

Bottom of the 5th inning- Big inning for Atlanta, Johnson led off with a walk, Renteria struck out(first time in 41 at-bats), Chipper hit into a fielder's choice, Andruw walked, McCann walked and Frenchy capitalized with our 70th and 71st 2-out RBIs with a bloop 2-run double. Tomko was then relieved by Joe Beimel who promptly struck out Thorman to end the inning. Braves now lead 4-0.

Top of the 5th inning- Smoltz is still cruising, he did give up a single to Furcal, but struck out Tomko, threw Pierre out at 1st as he was attempting to bunt and Nomar popped out to right field.

Bottom of the 4th inning- Tomko sits them down 1-2-3 and he literally sat down to make an out, Willie Harris, who robbed them of at least tying the game just minutes ago, hit a come backer to Tomko, and willing falling down, he reaches out grabs it and throws it while sitting down to get Harris, who is really fast. The Braves still lead 2-0.

Top of the 4th inning- YES! Smoltz gave up three straight hits to start the inning, so the bases were loaded with no one out and Smoltz got a pop up to short, a strike out and Willie Harris made a great running catch that saved at least two runs. YES!

Bottom of the 3rd inning- Braves leave two guys stranded, Chipper, who walked again and McCann who singled. Renteria grounded out the short, Andruw popped out to third and Francoeur grounded out to short also.

Top of the 3rd inning- Smoltz with another three up, three down inning. Tomko struck out swinging, Furcal flew out to left field and Pierre lined out to Renteria.

Bottom of the 2nd inning- Tomko settled down in the second, striking out Harris, getting Smoltz to ground out to short, he did give up a single up the middle to Johnson but KJ was thrown out at second trying to steal. I think he was safe, but that's just me being biased.

Top of the 2nd inning- Things go relatively easy for Smoltz again, Gonzalez led off with a single to right field and then he was forced out at second on Russell Martin's infield hit. Russell then advanced to second while Either went to first on Brian McCann's catcher interference call. But no damage done as Betemit struck out swinging and Martinez grounded out to second.

Bottom of the 1st inning- The Braves jumped on Tomko early, with a Renteria single, a Chipper walk and a Brian McCann 2-run double followed by a Francoeur walk. The inning ended when Thorman flew out to Pierre on the warning track.

Top of the 1st inning- Smoltz breezes through the first inning, getting them 1-2-3. Both Furcal
and Pierre grounded out the second and Nomar hit a lazy fly to center.

2:47 PM- #19 Current Selection, Tennessee selects Michael Griffin, S(TEX)

2:36 PM- I like this pick a lot, Mel Kiper said he draws comparisons to Ty Law and better yet he's a character guy. Hall is going to help our secondary in a significant way. Him and Joseph together should be a great duo.

2:24 PM- We have another trade. The Jacksonville Jaguars have traded their pick to the Denver Broncos.

2:19 PM- Jacksonville may look to Quinn too, Leftwich has 1 remaining year on his contract and he can't stay healthy. The starter in Jacksonville is up in the air right now. They have a lot of options right now, Nelson would replace Deon Grant, Leon Hall would compliment Mathis very nicely. Ect....

2:17 PM- So, what's the best part of the draft so far? I would say the "T.J. Whosyourmomma" commerical. It's run at least four times so far, and I laugh my ass off every time. "right, put it on the board, T.J. Houshamazilly....Championshiiiip ".

2:14 PM- Now, the Jacksonville Jaguars are on the clock.

2:12 PM- #16 Current Selection, Green Bay selects Justin Harrell, DT(TENN)

2:09 PM- Chris Mortensen is reporting that the Cleveland Browns are working hard to trade up and pick Brady Quinn. If they were to do that they will have had a hell of a first round, Thomas and Quinn. Damn.

2:05 PM- I had forgotten about this, but Davey just suggested they go with Greg Olsen. That makes a lot of sense seeing as how Bubba Franks was really bad last year. They might still try and trade for Moss later on too.

2:00 PM- (EDIT) The Green Bay Packers are on the clock now. They could take Robert Meachem or Dwayne Bowe seeing as how Ginn and Lynch are gone. ProFootballTalk hinted that they might take Brady Quinn.

1:58 PM- #15 Current Selection, Pittsburgh selects Lawrence Timmons, LB(FSU)

1:54 PM- The Pittsburgh Steelers are on the clock. Sadly, I think they will take Leon Hall, who along with Revis(just taken) I wanted for Cincy.

1:53 PM- #14 Current Selection, New York(Jets) select Darrelle Revis, CB(PITT)

11:46 PM- The details of the trade are the Panthers gave up their 1st round pick(14th overall) and their 6th round pick(199th overall) in exchange for the Jet's 1st round pick(25th overall), their 2nd round pick(59th overall) and their 5th round pick(164th overall).

11:44 PM- We have our first trade of the day, the Carolina Panthers have traded their 14th pick with the New York Jets. Look for them to take Leon Hall here.

11:40 PM- The Carolina Panthers are on the clock. I think they will take Greg Olsen, but they could trade down or maybe take Brady Quinn. Jake Delhomme was pretty average last season. Or they could take Reggie Nelson out of Florida.

11:39 PM- #13 Current Selection, St.Louis selects Adam Carriker, DE(NEB)

11:28 PM- The St.Louis Rams are now on the clock. They might go with Leon Hall/Darrell Revis or they could look to improve their defensive line with Carriker or Branch.

11:27 PM- Bruce Smith announced the Bills pick and before he said who was selected he said "god bless the Hokies" Amen! Of course the douches that are the Jet's fans booed him.

11:27 PM- #12 Current Selection, Buffalo selects Marshawn Lynch, RB(CAL)

11:19 PM- The Buffalo Bills are now on the clock. Look for them to either address cornerback or runningback. Leon Hall/Darrell Revis or Marshawn Lynch.

11:18 PM- #11 Current Selection, San Francisco selects Patrick Willis, LB(MISS)

1:14 PM- Roger Goodell has offered Brady Quinn and his family a private room where there is no media allowed. It is anticipated that he will have a long wait ahead of him.

1:05 PM- The San Francisco 49ers are now on the clock. Patrick Willis or Adam Carriker have got to be the way they go.

1:04 PM- #10 Current Selection, Houston selects Amobi Okoye, DT(LOU)

1:02 PM- I bet Brady Quinn feels like the fat kid that doesn't get picked for dodgeball.

12:54 PM- The Houston Texans are on the clock.

I'm speechless right now, the Dolphins needed a young quarterback and they took Ginn who has a foot injury.

WHAT THE HELL!!! OH MY GOD I CAN'T BELEIVE THEY JUST TOOK GINN!

12:51 PM- #9 Current Selection, Miami selects Ted Ginn Jr., WR(OSU)

12:48 PM- Steve Young just compated Brady Quinn's accuracy to that of someone in American Idol, you either can sing or you can't. He has sooo much make up on, he looks like a $2 hooker.

12:39 PM- The Miami Dolphins are on the clock. This is going to be a quick pick, Brady Quinn, no doubt about it.

12:38 PM- #8 Current Selection, Atlanta selects Jamaal Anderson, DE(ARK)

12:34 PM- Michael Smith says the Falcons want to trade out of the 8th spot, but if they don't then he thinks they will take Jamaal Anderson instead of Amobi Okoye.

12:28 PM- The Atlanta Falcons are on the clock, I see them taking Jamaal Anderson.

12:27 PM- #7 Current Selection, Minnesota selects Adrian Peterson, RB(OU)

12:25 PM- Everyone is saying the Vikings are going to Adrian Peterson, and Davey sure hopes so, he desperately wants Brady Quinn.

12:18 PM- The Minnesota Vikings are now on the clock.

12:17 PM- #6 Current Selection, Washington selects LaRon Landry, S(LSU)

12:14 PM- Yep, it looks like I may be wrong, they just showed Landry on the phone celebrating with his family and agent. It looks like he's a Skin. I don't understand that because their run defense is horrible but hey, why not, he's the best defensive player in the draft.

12:08 PM- Jaws says they should go with Landry, I strongly disagree, they already have Landry on the team...and his name is Sean Taylor. But the two of them could work out and be a hard hitting duo. If they don't trade the pick then they should go with Amobi Okoye or Jamal Anderson.

12:05 PM- The Washington Redskins are on the clock. I really think they will try and trade this pick, they only have one pick in first day and they need more picks, badly!

12:04 PM- ESPN continues to put the camera on Brady Quinn after every pick. Sort of like they did with Aaron Rodgers. Come on, like he's going to go to Arizona or Washington.

12:03 PM- #5 Current Selection, Arizona selects Levi Brown, LT(PSU)

12:01 PM- My boy, Michael Smith, says they take Levi right here and he was actually higher on their draft boards than Thomas.

11:56 AM- The Arizona Cardinals are on the clock, I expect them to take Adrian Peterson or Jamaal Anderson or a possible trade down for Levi Brown. Maybe they'll trade down.

11:53 AM- #4 Current Selection, Tampa Bay selects Gaines Adams, DE(CLEM)

11:47 AM- Chris Mortensen was just talking about how Jon Gruden really likes Brady Quinn and he's worked him out personally. Will the Buc's take Quinn? Adams? Peterson? Trade? I'd say Adams, but i've been wrong before.

11:45 AM- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on the clock. Could there be a trade???

11:41 AM- #3 Current Selection, Cleveland selects Joe Thomas, LT(WISC)

11:39 AM- Suzy Kolber said Calvin Johnson was "giggling". And Calvin said he's excited about going to Detroit and he's just happy to know where he's going. Don't get ahead of yourself CJ, you could be heading to sunny Florida or the ATL very soon.

11:36 AM- Brady Quinn's girlfriend is kinda hot. Enough said.

11:35 AM- If the Lions hold onto Johnson they instantly have one of the best(if not the best) receiving corps in all of football with Calvin Johnson, Roy Williams and Mike "Furry-ous" Furrey.

11:32 AM- The Cleveland Browns are now on the clock.

11:30 AM- #2 Current Selection, Detroit selects Calvin Johnson WR(GT)

11:25 AM- Chris Berman is a mind reader, just by looking at Calvin Johnson he has figured out that the Lions are going to pick him. Take that Miss Cleo.

11:21 AM- The Detroit Lions are now on the clock. Expect a trade coming soon, they will most likely choose Calvin Johnson and either keep him or ship him to either Tampa Bay or Atlanta.

11:20 AM- #1 Current Selection, Oakland selects JaMarcus Russell QB(LSU)

11:19 AM- I can't believe it, Keyshawn Johnson comparing the #1 overall rated player in the draft to himself. Or should I say, MeShawn.

11:17 AM- Adam Schefter is reporting that trade talks between the Lions and Falcons have resumed. If Oakland doesn't take Calvin Johnson 1st overall, then Atlanta has hopes of moving up to #2 and taking him.

11:10 AM- And here he is, Roger Goodell. "The 2007 NFL Draft is now open". "The Oakland Raiders are now on the clock".

11:04 AM- Keyshawn Johnson's name was just announced and what do you know, the New York Jet's fans booed. I have a feeling we're going to be hearing a lot of that today. There should be lot's of trades in the first round both with draft picks and veteran players. Look for Michael Turner(to Tennessee?), Randy Moss(to New England?) and Trent Green(to Miami?) to get traded sometime this weekend.

11:00 AM- It's now just seconds away from the Oakland Raiders being officially "on the clock". Early reports are that they are going to pick JaMarcus Russell and that they have assured him that he's their guy. But it's the Draft, you never know.

10:55 AM- Bringing in Beamer and the three former Hokies was a great touch for Goodell.

Beamer is giving a brief speech...I love that guy!

There is a moment of silence before the Draft to remember the victims of Virginia Tech. Representing Virginia Tech is Bruce Smith, Michael Vick and DeAngelo Hall and Head Football Coach, Frank Beamer.

The 2007 NFL Draft is just 10 minutes away from starting. And on a side note, Steve Young has A LOT of makeup on.

Super Bowl Live Blog.

Game over...Colts are victorious...29-17.

Time is just melting away, the Colts are going to win...and the MVP should be Dominic Rhodes and Joseph Addai. They both deserve it.

Well Thomas Jones just surpassed the 100 yard mark...goody.

The Bears defense decided it would be a good time to stop the run and the Colts punt.

Yet another Grossman interception, this one by Bob Sanders...this thing is over.

Rex Grossman just threw a pick-6. Colts 29-17.

An amazing diving catch by Marvin Harrison.

Finally daa Bears score...a FG by Gould...22-17 Colts.

Another FG for the Colts....22-14.

Long run by Dominic Rhodes, thanks to daa Bears allowing him to break tackles galore.

Sexy Rexy....yeah not so much. He gets sacked....then he then he awkward does somewhat of a Cart Wheel. Anyways, it leads to another Chicago punt.

Vinatieri with another FG....it makes it 19-14 Colts.

Joseph Addai is just running at will right now.

START OF THE SECOND HALF

Adam Vinatieri just missed a field goal...yes, that Adam. It's halftime, the Colts are leading 16-14.

Ok, that was a little weird. Peyton Manning just ran an option play. But I could've sworn that was an "athletic" play. What's Manning doing it for. Manning has the mobility of a dead walrus. But yet he finds running room.

Sexy Rexy...you dumbass, another sequence of back-to-back fumbles...Colts ball.

It was looking bad for the Bears, until Brandon Fletcher fumbled...recovered by daa Bears.

Touchdown Dominic Rhodes...2 yards out. Indy now leads 16-14.

The Colts are driving once again, they have it 1st & Goal at the Chicago 8.

Adam Vinatieri remains perfect as he hits yet another field goal. Daa Bears still lead 14-9.

Cedric Benson just came in and he fumbled...so far thats 3 fumbles already.

Thomas Jones, my MVP choice, just busted off a 52 yard run. Capped off by a Sexy Rexy touchdown throw to Mushin Muhammed. I can't believe I just said Sexy Rexy. Oh well.

Joseph Addai fumbled it on the very first play, recovered by rookie phenom, Mark Anderson.

The Colts decide to kick it away from Hester and well it worked. Gabe Reid received it and promptly fumbled it, Indy recovered it.

Hunter Smith did his best impression of Tony Romo and bobbled the snap. Bears still lead 7-6.

After trading punts, Peyton Manning found Reggie Wayne "WIDE OPEN" for a touchdown.

Well on 3rd & 12 Peyton does what he does best when it comes to the Playoffs...he throws a pick. Clark Harris was the lucky guy to receive Manning's first gift.

Well, the opening kickoff was just like the National Championship game, Devin Hester took it 96 yards for the touchdown. I am willing to put aside that Hester is a Cane, but just for today.

Live Blog...#2 Florida vs # 1 Ohio State (second half)

9:49- I'm calling it a night...this one is done, congrats Gainesville...job well done.

10:25- Touchdown Florida...Tim Tebow runs it in...41-14 FLA

11:05- Not posting as much, because...well this game is over...and it has been since halftime...but Florida is at the OSU 2 again.

14:15- on third down Troy Smith gets sacked again...OSU punts again.

End of the 3rd quarter

4:03- Deshawn Wynn busts through for a 17 yard run.

4:26- Troy Smith looks horrible tonight, this begs the question, Is this the worst performance by a Heisman winner?

6:18- Easy Urban, it's just 5 yard penalty...no sense in busting a blood vessell.

6:59- A big sack on third down for the Buckeyes, Florida goes 3 and out again.

10:25- At least Florida is taking over way back at their own 9...average start for the Gators, their 47 yard line.

11:49- No surprise, OSU 3 and out again.

14:35- Florida gets the ball first and they go three and out. And it was a shitty punt at that.

34-14 at half time. This is unbelievable. Hopefully the Buckeyes can get something going and comeback.

Live Blog...#2 Florida vs #1 Ohio State

End of the first half

:23- Touchdown Florida....Tim Tebow throwing it to Andre Caldwell. 34-14

1:28- Troy Smith stripped by Jarvis Moss, and Florida takes over at the OSU 5.

1:53- missed Jim Tressell going for it on 4th and 1 at his own 30 and he didn't get it. Well Florida promptly took over and and Chris Hetland hit another field goal. 27-14.

6:00- Chris Hetland actually made a field goal...43 yards and Florida extends the lead. 24-14.

6:35- A huge screen play for Harvin, this guy is fast...i'm talking Devin Hester fast.

9:14- Florida forces a three and out again.

9:47- And for the first time tonight, the Gators will have to punt.

10:59- Another first down for the Gators...OSU can't stop them right now.

13:32- Touchdown Buckeys... Troy Smith leads the buckeyes on a very nice drive, capped off on a 18 yard run by Antonio Pittman. 21-14 FLA

14:56- Touchdown Florida. This time by DeShawn Wynn from 3 yards out. 21-7 FLA

End of the 1st Quarter

:27- Once again, another Florida first down thanks to Andre Caldwell on a reverse.

1:14- Chris Leak is still perfect, 8-8 as he finds Jemalle Cornelius for 18 yards.

1:43- Chris Leak is looking absolutely brilliant, another long pass to Cornelius Ingram.

2:49- On 3rd and 14, Troy Smith got hit as he threw the ball and Reggie Lewis picked it off. Things are not going well for the Buckeyes.

3:34- Derrick Harvey ran down Troy Smith for a loss of 9 yards...but he is down with an apparent knee injury....he's up and he just ran off the field, i'm glad he's not hurt.

4:06- Antonio Pittman rushed for a first down....in bigger news, Ted Ginn is walking gingerly to the lockeroom.

5:41- Anthony Gonzalez gets the return again but this time, it was actually a good return.

The booth reviewed it and to me and the commentators, his knee was clearly down before he crossed the line, but it looks like the ref didn't see it that way, touchdown stands.

5:51- Touchdown Florida, this time it's Percy Harvin on an option. 14-7 FLA

6:47- Florida comes out firing again, a 20 yard completion to Cornelius Ingram, down to the 7 yard line.

8:28- After another personal foul on OSU, FLA will start with great field possession again, this time at OSU's 35.

9:08- The Buckeyes first drive...incomplete pass, rush of 4 yards by Troy Smith and a nasty looking sack...Buckeyes forced to punt.

10:21- This time, the Gators stay away from Ginn, and after a 8 yard return, Anthony Gonzalez got "JACKED UP"

10:31- Touchdown Gators!!! Chris Leak to Dallas Baker "The Touchdown Maker" 14 yards out. 7-7.

11:40- Chris Leak's pass is complete to Billy Latsko for an 11 yard gain and another 1st down.

14:14- The first play from scrimmage is a pass to Percy Harvin for 5 yards.

14:33- Florida's opening kickoff was a very good one as well, OSU's kicker had to take Brandon James down by the facemask, the 15 yard variety.

14:44- On the opening kickoff, Ted Ginn Jr. returned it all the way for a touchdown. 7-0 OSU.

Start of the 1st Quarter

Gators won the toss and elected to kick.

As the Gators ran out on the field an elderly man in a snazzy yellow blazer(circa 1940) was in front of them and he just got trampled...hahahhahahahahaha...I mean...I hope he's ok.

The Buckeyes are decked out in their white away jerseys and the Gators are in their home Blues.

My favorite player of all-time and 1995 Heisman winner, Eddie George is also doing the pre-game show and he is such a giving person, he brought Emmitt Smith an OSU visor and a sweater vest...I don't Emmitt took them, seeing as how he went to Florida, but it was a nice thought.

As Fox was introducing Emmitt Smith, for some reason Mr. Smith decided it would be a good idea to do a shimmy....it wasn't.

Live Blog tonight.

I suppose I will live blog the game the National Championship game tonight between the Florida Gators and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Live Blog (Bengals @ the less than Reputable Colts) second half.

Game Over.....Colts beat the Bengals 34-16

1:32- Dwight Freeny just made Carson fumble again...recovered by Bengals.

1:59- I still don't understand why were running the ball and doing screens....throw it deep...stupid

4:30- Dwight Freeny forced another fumble...but this one was recovered by the Bengals...

4:41- Tick, Tick , Tick....the clock just winding down now...this was a bad loss tonight...

5:30- Ricky Proehl dropped a ball forcing the Colts to add to their lead with another FG... Indy-34 Cin-16...

8:21- Rhodes is just running over us right now...pick up of 16.

11:14- Chad Johnson dropped a first down ball and the Bengals forced to punt.

11:27- The call was upheld...still Bengals ball...3rd and 10.

11:27- Palmer hit as he throws again....Indy is challenging that it was a fumble...not an incomplete pass.

12:18- after 2 back-to-back almost interceptions....the Colts go three and out.

13:07- Great, another field goal that doesn't really help us....Indy-31 Cin-16...my night gets a little worse.

13:42- Ok, can someone please explain to me why we are still running/swing passing the ball when were down by 18?

Start of the 4th Quarter

2:10- Chad Johnson just went to the locker room...so that takes away another weapon...come on....get it together Carson.

2:16- Another TD for Indy...this time to Reggie Wayne....Indy-31 Cin-13

3:33- Right now the Colts are just completing passes at will...we need a turnover....bad.

5:43- The Indy D all of sudden is play very well...pressuring Carson and making him throw earlier and/or off the back foot....not good....not good at all for my Bengals.

6:36- Manning to Marvin round 3....ok, I would really like for that combo to stop for the night...Ind-24 Cin-13

7:24- Joseph Addai just busted off a 40+ yard run to take the Colts to the 5 yard line...great move having him on my bench...

9:14- After a stop on 3rd down, Cincy will have to settle for another Shayne Graham field goal...Ind-17 Cin-13

10:31- Much like myself, it takes Rudi Johnson a couple of seconds to find the hole...but when he does....he pounds it...oh yeah

11:28- T.J. Houshmanzadeh with a big gain....first down Bengals.

12:07- Indy elected to go for it on 4th and 1 and they were stuffed.

14:47- The Colts received it and after a 6 yard dump pass to Rhodes....Joe Theisman used the word "niftiness" ...that makes me want to break his leg.

Start of the Second half

Live Blog (Bengals @ Less than Reputable Colts) 1st Half

0:00- And Carson gets stripped again.

0:01- The Bengals will get one more shot at a 50+ hail mary.

0:13- Manning to Marvin round 2....not helping me boys... Indy-17 Cin-10

0:17- Peyton ran again...this time he looked more like himself running...a loss of 3.

3:54- Manning just took off for a 14 yard run...he runs like an old guy with a plastic hip...but it got the job done I guess.

5:07- Peyton Manning is finally sacked...I have to admit...it felt good seeing him drop to his knees and accept it.

6:35- Jeff Sunday...I mean Saturday was called fora big penalty that took away a big play.

6:49- Touchdown Bengals....that was the one of the easiest rushing touchdowns you'll ever see. Cin-10 Ind-10

8:10- Reggie McNeal....yes that McNeal, rushed for a first down.

8:58- Terrence Wilkins muffed the punt and the Bengals recovered it...so now we get it back at the Colts' 25.

9:09- I'm speechless....a three and out for the Colt's defense...

10:25- Manning to Marvin...again....Colts 10-3...

11:05- Wow, I haven't seen a hole close that fast since....umm let's leave that one alone.

12:28- Joseph Addai runs for a first down and the Colts are in the redzone again.

14:51- Marvin Harrison makes Jonathan Joseph look like....well a rookie.

Start of the 2nd Quarter

End of the 1st Quarter.....Cincinnati-3 Indianapolis-3

0:54- Troy Walters with a nice return...Kevin Kaesviharn has about 68 tackles already, he's in every play.

1:01- The former Hokie bangs it through again...Shayne Graham ties it with a short field goal...Cin-3 Ind-3

1:05- Chris Henry just dropped a touchdown, and Davey just shed a single tear.

2:52- First Down Chad...get used to hearing that tonight.

3:33- Rudi Johnson just ran over and through Cato June and Robert Morris for a big first down.

6:27- Rudi Johnson picks up a short first down. Yep, Colts still can't stop the run.

8:03- Ben Utecht drops the first down so they have to settle for a Vinatieri feild Goal.... Cin-0 Ind-3

8:07- Indy is forced to use their first timeout...it's 3rd and 6.

9:42- The Colts pick up a first down, and I hate them a little more.

12:35- First play for Indy and it's a 6 yard pass to Ricky Proehl.

12:44- Carson Palmer dropped back right into a wall named Dwight Freeny, he fumbled and the Colts recovered. 1st Down Indy.

12:51- During the Timeout, the Colts challenged the catch and it was reversed...no catch for Chad.

12:51- Carson's second pass is for 22 yards to Chad...Chad got up a little slow so Marvin Lewis called a timeout.

13:27- On Rudi Johnson's second run, he fumbled but of course, the great Chad Johnson recovered it.

14:17- Chad Johnson introduced the Bengal's offense...hey look Keyshawn, he actually knows their names.

15:00- Bengals received first and returned it to their own 41 yard line.

1st Quarter

Tony Kornheiser's comb over is probably the worst thing on television since...well last week when Tony Kornhiser was on t.v.

Ben Stiller is wearing a Peyton Manning jersey...great now Davey has to take back his copy of "Along Came Polly".

Chris "You're With Me Leather" Berman projected the score to 60-50 Colts...hmmm okay.

Chad Johnson's neat shoes will definitely get him a purdy little fine.

Live blog tonight (Cincy @ Indy)

Well I have nothing else to do, so I am going to live blog the big game tonight. What fun.
