Cavs win and it wasn't because of LeBron

The Cleveland Cavaliers have defeated the Detroit Pistons, 98-82 to advance to the NBA Finals for the first time in the team's history. Like I said in the title, LeBron James wasn't that big of a factor, at least offensively, he had just 20 points but he had a great defensive game getting 14 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. It was none other than rookie point guard, Daniel "Boobie" Gibson who carried the Cav's offensively, he scored a very impressive 31 points and he added 6 rebounds and 2 assists, oh and he did all this coming off the bench.

The Cavaliers are going to have their hands full in the Finals because they are matched up against the defensive powerhouse that is the San Antonio Spurs this coming Thursday night for Game one.

To quote Cav's coach, Mike Brown, "you leave him open and it'll be Boobie for three....shoot it Boobie...Shoot it!"

LeBron drops 48 in the Cav's game 5 double overtime win

I really don't know what to say right now, LeBron James just single handedly beat the Detroit Pistons in double overtime. James scored a career playoff high 48 points in the Cav's 109-107 victory Thursday night and now has the Cav's within one game of reaching the NBA Finals for the first time in team history.

James hit what proved to be the game-winning shot with 2.2 seconds remaining and Detroit's Chauncey Billups missed a shot in the paint that would've tied the game on the ensuing possession.

A huge portion of James' points came in the fourth quarter and the overtimes in which he scored 30 of his 48 points and just for a little reference on how shitty his teammates are...James scored 29 of the Cav's last 30 points and only two of his teammates scored in double figures, Zydrunas Ilgauskas with 16 points and Daniel "BOOBIES!!" Gibson with 11 points...only one problem, they both fouled out.

But even with this career defining game, you wouldn't know it by LeBron's post-game interview, man...he's so modest.

"Why should I be surprised? I was making a lot of great moves," James said. "They are definitely a great defensive team, but I was determined to attack."

The Cav's can lock up the series this Saturday night in Cleveland and if necessary, game seven is in Detroit and it would be on Monday night.

A picture is worth 1,000 words...or in this case questions

This was taken from last night's game 2 of the NHL Stanley Cup which the Anaheim Mighty Ducks beat the Ottawa Senators, 1-0 to further extend their lead in the series 2-0. It's of Snoop Dogg wearing what appears to be a fake mustache sitting next to who I would assume to be his son. But this pitcher asks more questions than it answers...here's a small portion of the questions that entered my mind when I first saw this picture.

1. Why is Snoop in a disguise, it's not like their is anyone there that could spot him...just check out Lion in Oil.

2. What the fuck! I thought the high-top fade went out of style when Patrick Ewing retired...looks like lil' Snoop is trying to bring it back.

3. Remember to get milk tonight.

A good example why I don't bet

I have nothing against betting in any way, besides the fact that I am absolutely horrible at it. Case and point, last night's San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz game four, where just the day before I said the Jazz would win because they are were undefeated at home and they had the momentum heading into last night. Well apparently that doesn't mean shit when Manu Ginobili is hitting on all cylinders off the bench like last night and you hit ONE three-pointer the entire game as the Spurs went on to win the game with ease, 91-79.

That and you get little to no production out of anyone not named Deron Williams, who had 27 points and 10 assists in 38 minutes despite having lost eight pounds the last two days while fighting a stomach ailment, and Carlos Boozer who contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds. But with all that aside, I continue to pump out horrible advice, just ask A.J. Nicholson.

I'm not a betting man, but if i was...

Ok, i'm am not a betting man by any stretch of the imagination, partly because I spend my money the second I get, sure it's not good in the long run, but hey, I needed those sparkling purple pumps and it was an emergency. But if I was to bet on who I think will win tomorrow night's very important game four between the San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz, I'd take the Jazz.

I feel good about taking the Jazz for a few reasons, first of which, they donkey punched the hell out of the Spurs Saturday night, 109-83, thanks to Deron Williams and his 31 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. Those are Allen Iverson numbers, son! So take the momentum heading into game four and the fact that they are playing at home, which the Jazz are currently 7-0 in the playoffs at home and 3-0 against the Spurs while at home during the regular season, so yeah, I think it's a pretty safe bet.

The Jazz are currently one point favorites according to BetUs.com. So in order for me to win the bet, i'm picking Utah to win by two points. And I'm going to take the under on the total points which is set for 191, also according to BetUs. So in order for me to win dolla dolla bills ya'll the Jazz need to win by two points and the total score of the two teams combined must be under 191 points.

Well let's wait and see how this turns out tomorrow, when the game tips off at 9:00 pm ET on ESPN.

Kidd gets another triple-double and leads Nets over Cavs

After losing the first two games of the series against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the New Jersey Nets were in need of a strong show at home and they delivered. The Nets improved to 4-0 in the playoffs(and 10-0 going back to the regular season) at home after beating the Cavs, 96-85. The big three-Jason Kidd, Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson- all contributed in big ways, Kidd, Jefferson and Carter all had 23 points in the game. Kidd, along with his 23 points added 14 assists and 13 rebounds, Jefferson tallied 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals to his 23 points and Vince Carter, despite missing sometime after having to go to the locker to tape a sprained finger, grabbed 6 rebounds and 4 assists with his 23 point effort.

"He was terrific. His intensity, his ability to attack the paint, his will and doing it on both ends playing at such a high energy level," Nets coach Lawrence Frank said. "The triple-double, that is obviously such a tangible thing. He was tremendous on both ends. As a captain he set a great tone playing throughout their runs. He was obviously very, very special."

New Jersey was able to cool off the hot shooting LeBron James, James scored only 18 points, which snapped his 20-game streak of scoring at least 20 points in the playoffs. James did add 12 assists and 6 rebounds. The Cavs also had two players foul out, Sasha Pavolvic, who had been playing great defense on Carter in both games one and two and then Zydrunas Ilgauskas fouled out as well.

Most importantly for New Jersey, the Nets controlled the backboards after the Cavs pummeled them in the first two games, piling up a 100-69 rebounding advantage, including 39-12 on the offensive end.

"I have to give credit to our bigs," Jefferson said. "They did a great job of keeping them off the glass. In the first two games, there were some things we were doing defensively that I think were putting us in a bad way on the offensive glass and we adjusted to that."

The next game is going to be on Monday at 7:00 pm ET.

Bruce Bowen strikes again....

I'm not sure if i've mentioned on this blog, of my hatred of Bruce Bowen. I think he's a great defender, sometimes, but he's a DIRTY player. He's getting up there in age now, and when he gets outplayed he tries to injure other players. There's no way anyone can dismiss this, there is so much proof of him sticking his foot under players feet while they're in there are only for them to come down and roll their ankles.

Well he struck again a few nights ago during the San Antonio Spurs, 101-81 loss to the Phoenix Suns when he kicked Sun's center/power forward, Amare Stoudemire in his right achilles in the third quarter.



"He kicked me purposely in the back of my Achilles. I almost came down wrong and he almost caused an injury," Stoudemire said after Thursday's practice. "He's known for doing that. I just hope the NBA and the commissioner take a look at that because it's definitely a dirty play."

"I think the Spurs are a dirty team," he said. "I mean, (Manu) Ginobili during the regular season kneed me in the crotch on purpose. I just hope the league takes a look at it and cleans the game up a little bit."

"When I saw the replay and reviewed it three or four times, there was no doubt about it," he said. "It was a purpose kick to the Achilles' and he definitely tried to injure me."

"I was actually very, very, very upset," he said. "Me personally from last year, having to sit out the whole season because of injuries. And for a guy like Bruce Bowen, who is a two-time champion, he should have more class than that, should understand what it takes to be a professional."

"I know it's the playoffs. I understand a hard foul," Stoudemire said. "But that wasn't a hard foul at all. That was just a purpose kick trying to injure someone."

The Dallas Mavericks forward, Dirk Nowitzki, has been named the 2007 NBA Most Valuable Player according to ESPN's Marc Stein. He will be receiving the award next Tuesday.

Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki, whose coronation as the first European-born Most Valuable Player in NBA history has been expected for weeks, is scheduled to officially receive the MVP trophy news conference on Tuesday in Dallas, ESPN.com has learned.

Nowitzki was undoubtedly the best player on the the best team during the regular season at least. The Mavericks went 67-15 this season and Dirk led them in scoring and rebounding. Before the playoffs started he was a- i'm sorry for using this word in the same sentence as Dirk- sexy pick for the MVP, I mean he did average 24.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists per game and he shot 50% from the field, which are great numbers, are they MVP like numbers, hmm I don't know about that. And then you take into consideration his, and his team's colossal collapse against the eighth seeded Golden State Warriors that led to an early departure from the playoffs, well you can definitely start to see why some people may have been jumping off the bandwagon.

Personally I would've rather someone like Steve Nash win, I know, I know he's already won the damn thing two times in a row, but his numbers seem to get better and better each season as they did again this year. Another person who could've been a good choice is Kobe "this is his shot" Bryant. I don't personally like the guy, in fact I just plain hate the Lakers, but that aside, he had a great year, averaging over 30 points and 5 assists and over 5 rebounds per game. Another person who I don't think got any attention, at least MVP talk, is Carlos Boozer of the Jazz. He had a good season, 21 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists per game(I rounded up, i'm lazy) but he's has been even better so far in the playoffs, averaging 24.3 points, 12.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game(I didn't round up this time, I just saw a Chuck Norris infomercial, he'd be disappointed in me). He led his team past a very good Houston Rockets team and he's bested the team that knocked off the number one seed. Eh, fuck it just keep it Dirk, even though you got donkey punched by the Warriors.

Said Nowitzki, reached by phone Thursday night: "Nobody's told me anything. You [media] guys have been talking about it for a while, so let's see what happens.

"[But] it's hard to even think about that stuff right now. Everything [from the Golden State series] is still pretty fresh. It's been some tough days since we lost."

"I thought this was such an incredible year," Nowitzki said. "We won 67 games and then to lose in the first round, it just feels so empty right now."

But nevertheless, Dirk Nowitzki is the your MVP and despite the playoffs, he was great this season.

Side Note: I really did have a much better post, before my internet fucked me, but oh well.

UPDATE: Ok, so apparently I forgot King James in the MVP discussions, sorry Ohio. LeBron James, again had a great season, 27 points, 6.7 rebounds and 6 assists. Those are no doubt MVP numbers. This had nothing to do with him currently kicking the ass of my Nets right now, no none whatsoever(wink wink).

Fisher does it again, this time for his ill daughter

Derek Fisher has hit huge shots throughout his career, but none may have been as big and as important as the three-pointer that he hit last night in the Utah Jazz's 127-117 win over the Golden State Warriors in overtime. The Jazz now lead the second round series, 2-0 and they series is headed to Golden State now.

It wasn't so much that he hit a big shot in the playoffs that put his team up by four points, it's more of the circumstances of the shot. Fisher missed the first game of the series to be with his family, because his daughter was ill. But no one knew the severity of the his 10-month old daughter's, Tatum, condition. Tatum Fisher has retinoblastoma, a form of eye cancer that required a three-hour combination of surgery and chemotherapy at New York’s Presbyterian Hospital. And Fisher was with her and the rest of his family all day before boarding a plane and rushing to the game just in time to check in at 3:12 in the third quarter. He didn't even get the chance to warm up before entering the game, he arrived to a roar of applause from the crowd and the other players, greeted a few of his teammates and then was asked by Jazz coach, Jerry Sloan, "are you ready to play?", he said yes and was in the game. He didn't play too much then, but he was huge in overtime, scoring all five of his points and finishing off the game with two free-throws.

“I don’t know how I got through this tonight. I really don’t,” said Fisher, who hit his only shot, a 3-pointer.

“My daughter’s doing well,” Fisher said. “We had a successful operation in New York and I flew back and got off the plane and came to the game. I’m speechless.”

Nets and Bulls fall to 0-2

Yeah, so far the second round is not being too kind to my teams, as they have both fallen behind to 0-2. The Chicago Bulls are currently getting a colonic with a rusty hook every other night from Detroit Pistons and for the Nets, well to say that they are getting dominated on the boards would be a severe understatement.

I have figured out, with my superior math skills(adding and subtraction, it's a bitch) I have found that the Nets have been out rebounded by the Cavaliers overall, 100-69 and on the offensive side of the ball, Cavs are also destroying the Nets on the offensive boards, 39-12. Obviously something must change and soon. I feel that we will play better now that we're going back home and hopefully we can tie this bitch up, SON!

There isn't much to say about the Bulls and Pistons series. This one has every inkling that it's going to be a four game sweep. The Bulls haven't shown anything, at least to me, that leads me to believe that they can somehow salvage this. Chicago is a very young team and they were very impressive in their four-game sweep of the reigning NBA Champions but they are very inexperienced, talented, but inexperienced and if the Pistons and Spurs have shown to everyone over the past few years, it's experience and defense(it's cliche, but it's true) wins Championships.

Nets finish up Raptors in 6 games.

I didn't watch the whole game, in fact I only caught the last ten minutes or so of the fourth quarter because I was live blogging the Braves game, but it was still a very exciting ten minutes that I watched. The Raptors held in there throughout the fourth quarter and with a little over 3 minutes the took their first lead of the game since there was 2:44 left in the third quarter. They took the lead on a pair of made free throws and pulled ahead 93-92. The teams went back and forth and finally with 12 seconds left, Lawrence Frank called the Nets final timeout with Toronto leading 97-96.

I don't know what play Frank called during the 60 second timeout, but it was perfect. It seemed sort of like a backdoor screen to Jefferson, but Jefferson took the pass on the baseline from Kidd and did a spin move and layed it in for the go ahead points. And then after a Toronto timeout the Raptors showed their unexperience and threw the ball away to non other than Jefferson to end the game. Jefferson led the team with 21 points, Vince was next with 20 and Kidd was very close to another triple-double 18 points, 15 assists and 8 rebounds.

The Nets face the the Cleveland Cav's in the 2nd round. The Cav's swept the Washington Wizards who were without both Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler.

Huge third quarter puts Warriors' past Mavs, 115-86

The Golden State Warriors did the unthinkable, the took down the the sixth greatest team regular season team of all-time, at least by their record, which was an astounding 67-15. But throughout the regular the Warriors seemed to have the Mav's number, whether it was the run and shoot style of the Warriors that matched up so well with them or it was more of a mental thing seeing as how their former coach, Don Nelson, is now coaching the Warriors. But whatever it was it worked as Golden State became only the third 8th seed to ever upset the #1 seed in NBA history by winning the series four games to two. But I think the people over at Golden State of Mind said it best, it was all heart that won this series.

The heart of Baron, who served as an inspiration to this team, even though his own physical pain. The heart of Beidrins, who grew up in front of our very eyes this season. The heart of Jason Richardson, who took personal responsibility for our previous seasons failures and deserves tons of credit for our current status. The heart of Barnes, who has finally found his home and his role with this ballclub. The heart of Pietrus, who is developing into the perfect supplemental shooter and defender. The heart of Jackson, who consistently elevates himself to the elite in this league with every passing game. The heart of Nellie, who had the courage to recognize his team for the talent that they are, and not for the typecast the media wants them to be.

But perhaps most important, the heart of the fans, who have not only loyally stood by this organization through all of its... well, let's face it, downs; but who single-handedly turned the Oracle Arena into the LOUDEST, MOST FEARED VENUE FOR AN OPPOSING TEAM TO SET FOOT IN.

Stephen Jackson avoided suspension for his ejection in game 5, which was his second in the series, and good thing he did, because it was his third quarter that really put the Warriors in front of the favored Mavs. Jackson hit four 3-points in the third on route to his game high, 33 points.

"I wanted to be aggressive," Jackson said. "Baron came out and told me he wasn't feeling as good as he had in previous games, and he wanted me to carry us. I wanted to stay focused, not worry about calls, not get too emotional, just bring my energy with my play."

Baron Davis, on just one good leg, scored 20 points along with 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Davis has been the leader of this young yet talented team. And Davis is going to have give everything he has left, if the Warriors are going to have more success in the second round against the winner of the Houston Rockets and Utah Jazz game. And if Jessica Alba likes the Warriors, then I like the Warriors.

Raptors force game 6 in New Jersey

New Jersey- 96
Toronto- 98

The Toronto Raptors avoided elimination last night against the New Jersey Nets. But it came at costly price, both of their point guards, T.J. Ford and Jose Calderon, were both injured in the game. And it isn't known if either one of them will be able to go in game 6, which is good news for us, seeing as how Calderon had a career game and Ford has been wearing our guards out, running 100 miles per hour and running everywhere, non stop. But if both of them do miss the game, then I guarantee the win, they would then be forced to start either Juan Dixon, who is more of an undersized two-guard or Darrick Martin, who makes me giggle cause he has a chubby head. Ford was taken to the hospital as a precautionary move, he collided with Vince Carter just minutes into the first quarter. He fell to the ground and was down there for a while before being helped to his feet. Team officials are calling it a "stinger", and was taken to the hospital for a few tests He returned to the arena and was sitting on the bench late in the fourth quarter. Tests showed no serious problems but Ford still complained of soreness after the game. Calderon was also taken to the hospital after the game to have his ankle looked at. He rolled his ankle in the final minute of the Raptors win last night and was limping pretty bad. The results and severity of his ankle is still unknown.

The Raptors starters were great, all of which, excluding Ford, scored in double figures, with Calderon leading the way, coming off the bench, with 25 points. Calderon also added 8 assists. Chris Bosh was held to only 25 minutes due to early foul trouble and 11 points. Andrea Bargnani and Anthony Parker both had 18 points and Morris Peterson contributed with 17 points including 3-3 from the three-point line. Toronto used the Net's technique, by jumping on the Nets early and often and taking high percentage shots. They had 15 point leads throughout the game and their biggest lead was 20 points.

The Net's fell behind early and weren't able to make a comeback until it was relatively too late, they kept fighting but at the end it wasn't enough. The Net's had big games from Vince(of course) and Richard Jefferson, but other than those two, they didn't get much offense from anyone else, even Jason Kidd was held to 11 points. Carter led all scorers once again with 30 points and Jefferson had 23 points. The next highest scorer was Bostjan Nachbar, who had an atrocious night from behind the arc, he shot 0-7 and that included what would've been the game winning shot at the buzzer. The next game will be game 6 this Friday in New Jersey and I have a request to Net's head coach Lawrence Frank. Please, please, please start Josh Boone over that worthless piece of.....Jesus help me restrain myself....Jason Collins. He is the worst starter in the NBA, he can't score, he can't rebound and he can't defend. Boone scored 8 points in just 9 minutes of play as compared to Collins 0 points, 2 rebounds and 2 turnovers performance(??) in 17 minutes of play. PLEASE BENCH COLLINS!

New Jersey still leads the series 3-2.

Bulls sweep the Champs and the Nets improve to 3-1

Bulls- 94
Heat- 79

The Chicago Bulls completed a 4-0 sweep of the defending NBA Champions Sunday night. The Bulls erased a four point halftime deficit and just destroyed the Miami Heat in the second half by the score of 48-31. Not only was this sweep historic for the NBA, but it also became the first series win for the Bulls since Michael Jordan was winning championships in the Windy City. The Bulls became only the sixth team in NBA history to sweep the defending NBA Champions and oddly enough, three of the six teams to be swept, were all coached by Pat Riley. Hmm, how bout that.

Ben Gordon was once again, led the Bulls in scoring with 24 points, he also had 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 rebounds. Luol Deng contributed with double-double, he had 22 points, 12 rebounds, 4 steals and an assist. For the Heat, Dwayne Wade led the team in points and assists on his way to a double-double. Wade had 24 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds and 1 block. Besides Wade, the rest of the Heat team did nothing to help him and that was one of the main factors on why they were so outmatched this series, that and they were way too old to keep up with the speedy, young stars of the Buls.

Chicago will advance to the 2nd round to face the top overall seed in the East, the Detroit Pistons, who cruised past the Orlando Magic in 4 games as well.

Raptors- 81
Nets- 102

The New Jersey Net's jumped all over the Toronto Raptors early and often. From the start of the game, the were running and scoring at will. Just two nights after never trailing and leading by as much as 21, New Jersey was behind for all of 15 seconds in this one and was ahead by 33 at one point. New Jersey has taken a different approach this post season. They are running, making smart shot selections and pouring it on in the beginning of the game. It also doesn't hurt when Vince Carter is scoring damn near 30 points every night and Jason Kidd is flirting with a triple-double.

Vince Carter led all scorers with 27 points, he also added 7 assists, 7 rebounds and a block. After struggling in the first two games of the series, Carter has been averaging 32 points per game over the last two contests. Jason Kidd was very close to back-to-back triple-doubles, he scored 17 points, 13 assists, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block. And with Richard Jefferson having a big game, the Nets looked unstoppable. Jefferson scored 23 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.

The Nets next game is in Toronto tonight, so you can expect plenty of "VC sucks" chants. But we'll win this one and send the Raptors back home. Just let it slide that I said we're going to "send the home" even though it's a home game for the Raptors. The game is on TNT.

Nets and Bulls both win

Kidd's triple-double powers Nets to an easy win

On the shoulders of the injured(?) Jason Kidd and Vince Carter, the New Jersey Nets powered their way to a 102-89 victory over the Toronto Raptors. Coach of the year, Sam Mitchell and Raptors leader, Chris Bosh laughed when asked if they thought Kidd was really hurt. And Mitchell went as far as calling it a "so-called injury".

Jason Kidd missed practice because of a bruised left knee. Not only did that not stop Kidd from being in the starting line-up, he contributed in a historic way. Kidd posted his 10th postseason triple-double, scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 19 assists.

"The thing that is unique about Jason is that, on any given night, he can have a triple-double. The fact he almost did a 20-20-20 deal is remarkable," Nets coach Lawrence Frank said. "With Jason, in terms of the knee, once he puts that uniform on, you're going to get his best effort. It's just his will." "I don't know if he's healthy or not, but he did do something special," teammate Vince Carter said. "He definitely played phenomenal on both ends. I'm just glad that he was able to come in and play tonight."

Vinsanity scored a game high, 37 points and also chipping in with 2 rebounds, 5 assists and a block. And he didn't do it from behind the arc, like he's been trying to for recently. He was able to dominate down low, posting up on and scoring at will at everyone that tried to guard him.

"Vince came out early and took it to us. That was the thing we were afraid of," said Toronto's Mitchell. "He started making some tough shots. I thought Jason Kidd, with the supposed so-called injury, was unbelievable. He dominated the basketball game. As good as Vince was, Jason Kidd was part of everything. He rebounded, assists. He made big shots. Every time we made a little run, he made a play."

The Nets now lead the series, 2-1 and they play their next game is on Sunday at 7:30 PM ET on TNT.

Shaq and Wade aren't enough to stop the Bulls

The defending NBA Champs are now one loss away from being sent home after they let a 4th quarter lead go Friday night. The Miami Heat fell to the Chicago Bulls, 104-96 standout(and my favorite . The Bulls were led by former UConnHuskie), Ben Gordon and his 27 points and Luol Deng's 24 point effort.

The Heat let a lot of leads get away from them, including a 12 point lead, a 7 point lead(at halftime) and a 4 point lead(at the end of the 3rd quarter) go. Besides the blown leads, they only got significant production from two players, and I bet you can't guess who. Ok, i'll just tell you, Shaquille O'Neal and Dwayne Wade. Wade lead all scorers with 28 points and also had 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals and the Diesel had 23 points, 13 rebounds and 2 blocks. Besides those two, the rest of the Heat players scored just 45 points(12 from Walker and 10 from Posey).

For the Bulls, Kirk Hinrich posted 22 points and 6 assists, to addition to Deng's 24 points he also had 11 rebounds and 3 assists and Gordon had 5 rebounds and 2 assists to go along with his team leading 27 points.

"Nobody has came back from 3-0, and we don't want to be the team that it's done against," Deng said. "That has to be something we're focused on -- to know this team can really pick up how they play."

"It's only one win. We know we have to win four instead of three," Bulls coach Scott Skiles said. "But in a game where we weren't playing that well and things weren't going our way, we were able to overcome it."

Saturday night wrap-up.

Alot in the sports world has happend tonight. To name a few; the start of the 2006-2007 NFL playoffs, a major upset in college basketball and another tragic death.

NFL Playoffs:

KC- 8 INDY-23

Almost all of the "experts projected Larry Johnson to gain at least 150 yards and 2 TDs against the worst run defense of the Colts. I have to admit, I thought LJ would get 40+ touches and 150 yards but I was leaning towards only 1 TD. Well like most things in my life, I was wrong. Johnson only had 13 rushes and a miserable 32 yards. What the hell happened to the defense that gave up damn near 400 rushing yards to Jacksonville less than a month ago?

But with all that aside, Peyton Manning was less than spectacular throwing 3 picks, but did manage to throw for 268 yards and connect with Reggie Wayne in the end zone with less than 5 minutes in the 4th quarter. The big contributors in this game besides the Colts' D(who would've thunk it?) were Dallas "don't show me grunting on a video game without my permission" Clark with 9 catches for 103 yards and Joseph Addai who had a stellar game, 25 carries 122 yards and 1 score.

The Colts looked absolutely dominating in all aspects of the game today, offense, defense and special teams. Look, when you hold the ball twice as long as your opponent and you nearly triple them in total yards, odds are you'll win.

DAL- 20 SEA- 21

This as expected, was a very close game. It came down to Tony Romo botching the snap of a chip shot field goal attempt with 1:19 left in the game that sealed the fate of the once thought of best team in the NFC( Being the best team in the NFC is like being the skinniest kid at fat camp, sure you feel good now, but wait till you get home and you hear the first "hey look, tubby's back"....fuck, remember what Dr. Feinstein said, that's the past...leave it in the past.)What was I talking about, oh yes, the playoffs.

No one really jumped out, statistically in this one except Jerramy Stevens, in between dropping passes in the Superbowl and getting his crotch destroyed by a 300 pound lineman, he managed to haul in two touchdowns.

So to recap quickly, Indy beats on KC like Ike beats on Tina and Romo loses it for the Cowboys. Don't feel bad for Tony Romo though, he can always go cry on the shoulder of Jessica Sim....oh yeah, I forgot about that, honest mistake *wink, wink*.

NCAABB:

I guess I will have to take the bad with the good on this one. The good part is my Hokies were able to beat Duke in Camden to revenge that bullshit 45 footer at the buzzer last year. We usually play the Blue Devils well but haven't really been able to beat them in recent years. But we finally edged them out in overtime today, 69-67.

The bad part is my beloved UConn Huskies fell for the second time this year. LSU showed us that all the talent in the world can't win you games, you have to come out and play like the better team. Led by Glen "Big Baby" Davis and Tasmin Mitchell the Tigers destroyed us 66-49.

Another tragic death to a young football player:

Mario Danelo, the kicker for the USC Trojans, was found dead at the bottom of a cliff today. Danelo is the 21 year old son of former NFL kicker, Joe Danelo. Police have not yet released any details, but Martha Garcia of the Los Angeles Police Department, said that it appeared as though he had suffered traumatic injuries.

Speaking on behalf of Trojans coach Pete Carroll, USC spokesman Tim Tessalone said: "We were stunned to hear about this tragedy. This is a great loss. Mario was a wonderful young man of high character.

"He was one heck of a kicker. He was a key ingredient in our success the past two years. The thoughts and prayers of the entire Trojan family go out to the Danelo family on this sad, sad day."
