#11 Virginia Tech 29 Cincinnati 13 F

Ok this game at times made me want to cry and even think about committing felonies, it also made me scream inappropriate obscenities that would make Samuel L. Jackson blush. Then when things went good for the Hokies I giggled like a 12 year old school girl, and when Branden Ore ran for long gains for 14,23,11,46 and a 71 yard run(called back) I even questioned my sexualality a little bit. But with all that aside, this was a tough game in the first half. Our offense couldn't get anything going on the ground or throught the air. In fact at the half we had a total of -8 rushing yards as a team.

But I guess the Hokies took to heart what Frank Beamer said at halftime(I don't know for sure if he said anything, i just assumed he did) because Tech came out on fire. Sean Glennon connected with Justin Harper for a 47 yard TD pass in the first 90 seconds of the second half and gave us the lead. 12-10

For awhile in the 3rd quarter it was a seesaw game, when it came to scoring. VT scored a TD and went up by 2, then Cincy kicked a FG and they went up by 1, then it was all VT from that point on. They scored 17 unanswered points and pulled out a tough win, 29-13.

Like I said earlier, Branden Ore was huge in this game. He carried the rock 26 times and had 163 yards 1 TD and he had 1 rec for 34 yds. At the break Ore only had a total of 18 yards but the 145 he put up in the second half definitely gave him honors as the game MVP. Sean Glennon was pretty good today aswell. He went 11/23 190 yds 1 TD and 1 INT. He's really got to stop throwing picks. He was sacked 3 times for -22, which hurt our total rushing yards as a team, but thats ok.

Way back in the 1st,Cincinnati lined up for their first punt deep in VaTech territory, when Josh Morgan blasted through the line and blocked Tech's 4th kick on the season.(3 all of last year) The blocked punt resulted in a Hokie safety.

The game was wrapped up thanks to Victor "Macho" Harris picking off two straight balls thrown by UC's qb, Dustin Grutza, including returning 1 of those interceptions for a 72 yard TD run.

Anyway, this was a tough but a good win. We will have a huge test against a very good Georgia Tech team next week.
