Virginia Tech 35 North Carolina 10

In this game the score doesn't do justice to how good the Tech defense was. The Tar Heels didn't really start to rack up passing yards untill the second and third string defense for Virginia Tech was out there. The Hokies were able to block another punt today, if you're counting that makes 3 blocked kicks(2 punts, 1 field goal) so far this year. They only had 3 all of last year.

In the first the hokies didn't look to good and I was very nervous, but my booiii Davey reminded me it was too early to begin to worry.(Which is weird because he's a cane.) And sure enough we had to punt and UNC's Brandon Tate returned the punt 35 yards and they had the ball at the VT 38. After a first down pass to Jesse Holley, The Heels were stopped and they were forced to attempt a 46 yard field goal....Good. UNC leads 3-0. After a fumble by Sean Glennon, both teams traded punts. Then Xavier Adibi(my favorite Hokie) intercepted a Joe Dailey pass and he returned it all the way down to the 1 yard line. The next play Branden Ore pounded it in for the touchdown. Hokies now lead 7-3.

The second quarter the scoring was quite aswell. After a couple of punts and a George Bell fumble, Aaron Rouse intercepted another ball off of Dailey. Then on UNC's next drive, they prepared to punt the ball away but Jason Adjepong and the Hokies had a differant idea. Tech blocked David Wooldridge's punt. With great field position again, Branden Ore found his way to the endzone again. Hokies lead 14-3 at halftime.

In the third quarter there was more punts traded between the teams, and it was looking like it was going to be a low scoring defensive battle, untill Tech got another great field postion at their own 45 yard line. A 3 minute drive Branden Ore rushed for another touchdown, his third of the game. Hokies lead 21-3 at the end of three quarters.

In the fourth quarter, it started off slow once again untill UNC put together a very nice drive behind the arm of Cam Sexton. The drive looked great untill Sexton threw a lazy pass that was picked off by Brandon Hill and returned 70 yards for the touchdown. Hokies lead 28-3. Then Sexton came back and after two straight incomplete passes, Sexton threw another interception to another man named Cam, this one by VT's Cam Chancellor. This lead to another Virginia Tech touchdown, this one a 41 yard connection to 280 pound tight end Greg Boone from Ike Whitaker. Hokies lead 35-3. UNC was able to finally score a touchdown against reserves....that's a great accomplishment for them. It was an 18 yard touchdown for Brooks Foster from Cam Sexton. Hokies still win 35-10.

Once again not many complaints this week. The only one I could really see is our passing game wasn't up to par. Of course we really didn't need it due to Branden Ore's 22 car 111 yds 3 TDs. But if we are going to beat other ACC teams, then the passing game must stay consistant.
